PARKING & PREPAREDNESS:

WEATHER: There is a 20-30% chance of some rain on May 8 (depending where you check). Although we doubt it will rain in the morning, still come prepared! (we’ll have lots of time to rally!) FOOD: We will have some pizza coming a little after 11!  Please partake! (donations will be appreciated but not expected!) If you dine vegan, we may have some granola bars, etc however please order food or take a short break to pick some up!

SIGNS: We will have some signs available however please bring/make! Have a sign-making party! What’s most important is MESSAGE- what do YOU think is the solution to the problem? What do you think every-day people need to know? Bank of America’s new slogan is “Life’s Better When You’re Connected” What is BoA REALLY connected to?

MESSAGING: Do you have a story to tell about Bank of America? Can you put it into succinct, civil-but-honest, one-page format and bring some copies? Please bring and feel free to share your story with us!

 

PARKING: 7th St. Station is the closest huge lot and you’d only be saving a buck or two parking much further. There are very few free parking areas on the weekdays in “Uptown” Charlotte unfortunately. February 24 Meeting: Update!

Our next in-person meeting will be hosted in Winston-Salem on Sunday Feb 24.

The meeting will be held in the Community Arts Café.  The meeting will begin at 1:30.  Food will be provided – donations welcome but not necessary.

You are also invited to come early and join us for our “Corporate Wedding”  event at 1:00PM (More details on that coming soon.)  This event will be held just accross the street from the meeting space.

Bank of America Shareholder Meeting Protest a Huge Success

You joined us in Charlotte at the BoA Shareholder Meeting on May 9 and together we triumphed. Our shareholder allies spoke out and told their stories, dominating the shareholder meeting.

We took the streets and held them. We occupied the intersection outside the shareholder meeting and held it for two hours, until we were ready to leave.

We heard from people impacted by Bank of America’s criminal practices, as well as activists from around the country. We heard music, we sang, and we connected with our allies. We built up our energy and formed new alliances.

Cackalack Thunder Drum Corps energized us, as did our amazing chant leaders and speak-out facilitator.

We briefly mourned the passage of NC Amendment One, while highlighting the new power we’ve built through this campaign.
